Kelly and David

We photographed the most beautiful wedding last weekend! Dave and his family have been clients and friends for many years, since Dave and his sister, Allison, were little tykes.

A few months ago Dave’s mother, our dear friend Daryl, called to ask us to photograph David’s wedding to beautiful Kelly.   By then, it had been a number of years since we had seen the family.  Imagine our surprise when we saw Dave - a grown man and now an attorney at his own firm in Long Beach!  And now he was getting married!  Time sure does fly…

The wedding at the Fairmont Hotel in Newport Beach was exquisite. Sophia Huynh, the wedding consultant, made sure everything went off without a hitch. The ceremony, conducted by Don Johnson, was very touching. Don knows the couple well and made the entire ceremony very personal and meaningful. The music, performed by Naples Chamber Ensemble, was lovely.

The sand mixing ceremony was a nice touch - this is a tradition in which the bride’s family and groom’s family pour sand into a common jar to symbolize the families mixing together and becoming inseparable.

The DJ, Peter Merry, was also phenomenal. He shared funny tell-tale stories about the wedding couple and each of the members of the bridal party, resulting in lots of fun and laughter.

The wedding was elegant, yet lighthearted and fun.  Everyone had a great time and it was an honor to photograph such a delightful couple making their way into the rest of their lives together.

Little Bitty Bidwells

We recently had the pleasure of photographing two of the most adorable children yet. I suppose I may be moderately biased, being that they are my grandchildren, but they really are quite cute!

We traveled to the Bay Area over Labor Day weekend to celebrate our youngest granddaughter’s first birthday. And what is a first birthday without a photo session?

To commemorate the big day we did a session of our granddaughter, Annabelle, and her big brother, Jakey. We had such a blast photographing these two little cuties. And boy, do they love the camera!

We were exhausted by the time it was all said and done. Trying to keep a 1 year-old and a 4 year-old happy and laughing is no small task, especially when the 1 year-old is dead set on escape!

Between chasing after her, bouncing up and down to make them laugh and rolling around on the floor with the camera for some perfect shots, we were bushed! But it was all worth it in the end.
