How lucky we are! We get to work with the most wonderful people! We recently had a fabulous time creating some gorgeous portraits for Sujata.
The beautiful and talented Sujata came back to see us after much too long an absence! We first met her family when she brought her tiny daughter to us for a photography session. Now, two more daughters and years later, we had the opportunity to photograph her and her husband again. Although we have continued to photograph the family over the years, after they moved to Dallas, Texas, the photo opportunities were few and far between.
I am pretty sure not a day has passed for Sujata since we last met - she still looks as young and gorgeous as ever! She is radiant, and it is extremely difficult to believe she is the mother of college-aged children!
After raising three delightful girls, she now has some time to explore her own talents as an oil painter and is currently taking art classes.
Over the past few years, she has been perfecting her craft. Her artistic talent blows us away. For one of her assignments, she needed a headshot and, while searching for a photographer in Dallas, her husband said, "You already know who will give you the best headshot!" So off to California they came, and chose Prasad Photography to do the honors!
In addition to a headshot we photographed the beautiful couple. They are a striking pair, so young at heart, charming, stylish, creative... there are not enough wonderful words to describe them!
Look at this family! One might say we were biased, being that they are our children and grandchildren and all, but it is undeniable. They are perfect! Look at all those gorgeous smiles! (Even the dogs have nice smiles!)
Dee, our lovely daughter, and her boys came to us for a family photo shoot. They knew exactly what they wanted, which is always helpful, and they were so much fun to work with. They even brought in their own rustic garden bench - which, though you would never guess by looking at it - weighed a LOT! I won't mention the amount of work it took to actually get that thing in the studio! Luckily, Dave is a 6-foot-tall ex-football player with plenty of muscle power! Clearly it was well worth it. I love how it works with the brick background to give a casual feel to this fabulous portrait.
Dee and Dave are so much fun and so full of energy and life. After over 15 years of marriage, they still have such a great time together and are always making each other laugh.
The photo shoot was a blast! However, the boys were a bit tricky, particularly their oldest, Christian. He is going through that phase where he is far too embarrassed (and cool) to pose for photos, especially for his grandparents. Yet, with a little convincing, some privacy and a lot of bribery, we were able to get some gorgeous shots of him.His younger brother Keller was a trooper. He's not quite old enough to be completely mortified by us and our cameras yet, I suppose.
And then there were the pups...
One might look at these adorable dogs and believe they were calm, cool and collected throughout the shoot. But no! They were so excited to be there. They were whizzing up and down the stairs, in and out of the studio, and having their own little party! However, look at them! They stopped for the camera, long enough for their own personal photo shoot. And thank goodness for that. The Mikkelson Family portraits would not have been complete without Dulce and Coal!
We have the best job in the world. We get to spend time with and learn about beautiful, intelligent and amazing people. The Squire family is that and more.
We met Jason Squire years ago, but became quite close to him and his family after he performed as the DJ at our wedding ceremony in 2005. He and his beautiful wife, Roni, are the artists and entertainment behind Squire Productions, a mobile DJ entertainment company they started 12 years ago. They are the most amazing DJs and entertainers out there.
As if they weren’t perfect enough, they have four incredible children in their brood. Natasha, Natalie, Jaron and Renee were so enchanting – chasing bubbles in our backyard studio, laughing, enjoying each other’s company, and making it so easy for us to work with them!
Jason and Roni, who still act like newlyweds, were also wonderful to photograph, when we could get Jason’s phone away from him long enough to snap a photo! We only had to confiscate it once. As you can see, it was well worth it!
We so enjoyed our time with the Squire family. With such beautiful faces on everyone in that family, it would be impossible not to get some amazing shots! What a blessing to have them as part of our extended family!
One of our favorite things is photographing children! Recently we photographed the most beautiful little girl, Naaya. She is an absolute doll. We like to call her our little princess! She is smart, funny, shockingly beautiful, and quite precocious. We have the most amazing time when we are working with her. She keeps us on our toes!
She is hilarious. She is so used to us (we've been photographing her since birth) that she walks in, owning the place, and proceeds to do her own little model moves!
It was a lot of work to keep Naaya still for two seconds to snap a photo. We were constantly being creatively challenged, trying to find new games that would help keep her still for a moment to capture her adorable expressions!
But as you can see, it was well worth the effort. This little princess was a delight to photograph and we always look forward to her sessions.
Look at those big, beautiful brown eyes! She just emanates beauty. And mischief!
We can't wait until we get to play with her again.
